Hi all,

Because of the volume of email that I receive and my limited time I have a few requests I would like you to follow when contacting me.

1.  ALWAYS state the name of the site you are requesting help and/or Information for.. As much as I should remember each and every one of you the volume of stuff I go through each day makes it very difficult.  This simple thing (for you) helps me BIGTIME.

2. If you are NOT hosted on my server (or Steves).. ALWAYS provide me with Cpanel Login/Password..  Its possible I have your information saved in a previous email, but I process over 2,500 emails per week and just don't have the time to go searching for it.

3. State each problem IN DETAIL..  Think of me as VERY stupid when you describe a problem and include examples, links clicked, etc, etc etc so that I understand what your talking about and know where to look to help you.

4. MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM A PROBLEM IF A MEMBER OF YOUR SITE REPORTS ONE...  I have a few owners that email me everytime someone makes a complaint.  PLEASE stop!.  I can not fix a problem that does not exist, so please test and confirm a problem exists BEFORE you email me about it... (then email me with the details on how you re-created the reported problem so I can do it too)

5. If there are multiple issues you have questions about.. combine them in ONE email..  There is nothing worst than seeing your inbox fill up with a mess of little things.   I have counted up to 25 emails from the same person in the space of days and I just can't believe that is necessary.

6. PLEASE.. avoid run-on emails..  Remember that my time is limited and I want to help you... placing your replies inside a email that goes 40 levels deep is the easiest way to face a HUGE delay in processing and it is likely I will miss something (which I really do not like doing).  If it is something new.. Start a new, clean email.. put your site name in the subject so it jumps out at me... State your problem/request clearly and IN DETAIL so I understand.  ONLY use 'reply' when we are still working on the same problem and the information below is applicable to the problem we are working on.

7. BE CONSIDERATE..  I pride myself with giving the best support on the internet but I do lose it from time to time.  REMEMBER that there are many site owners and NO ONE is more important to me than the other.  When I get busy, my patience grows short and my response time slows down.  ASK here in the forum from the help of other owners whenever possible.  You may find they can actually help you BETTER than I can.

There may be more things to add on this, but in a nutshell I am just asking you to  PLEASE think before you email.  The more thoughtfull you are and the more information you can provide the faster I can help you.  The faster I can help you means EVERYONE gets helped faster...

Glen.
